Camp Jolt

Mason Zipline

On November 12 – 14 I went to camp jolt. My Dad was a chaperone which made the trip more fun!Tongue out

The food was very delicious. And my camp counselor was very nice.  She let us do fun things. We got to do so many activities like zipline, wearing waiters in the lake, fossils and rocks, and dirt and soil. Those activities were all so fun.

The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms were fairly nice. My Dad just said we needed wireless and cable. Laughing

Next to our cabins we played football each afternoon during free time.

I had the best camp experience of my life!

My Thanksgiving

My Thanksgiving yesterday was the best day ever!

First I woke up and played on the computer. Then I helped to make the eggs for breakfast.  Next my family did the christmas lights outside. At night I had turkey, broccoli, stuffing and potatoes. We cleaned up and ate pie. After pie we had a family meeting and I helped to come up with the new Christmas caper movie idea.

Then we had a family movie night and watch Her Best Move. Then we went to bed.

THE END

Humongous Halloween Haul

{rokzoom}images/stories/halloween%20haul.jpg{/rokzoom}OMG…32.2 Pounds!  It was the biggest and most amazing haul for the kids this year, and not because they stayed out forever but because they stumbled into a plan that raked in the candy, even without Mary who was handing out candy due to her surgery the day before.

Mitchell wanted to go to the Wakeland football game (yes, they scheduled a football game on Halloween) as the middle school team was asked if they wanted to run through the tunnel with the football team.  That meant he might miss trick-or-treating.

He left early and got back from the game at 8pm and asked if he could go out for a bit.  We had been out for 45 minutes already with the little kids so I told him he could go out for a little while and Mason and Mark could go with him.

They were gone for about  a hour.  When they came back they had a ton of candy.  It seemed that everyone, including us, had over bought thinking there were going to be more kids this year.  So at every house they went to (they only went up and down three blocks) people were handing them handfuls of candy or just dumping the rest of the bowl into their bags in an effort to get rid of it.  Thanks!

Now we have an enormous amount of candy.  We let the kids each pick 25 pieces for their private stash and the rest goes into the family shared bag.  We may head to the dentist and sell it to her.  She will pay $.50 a pound and then send it to the troops.

Doerrstop X

doerrstop welcome

More Doerr’s Than You!

Yeah.  That’s right.  If you don’t think so then bring it on. And Doerrstop.com is the place to find out everything you’ve always wanted to know about the Doerr family (and probably way, way more).

Take a look around and let us know what you think of the new site.

The first thing you’ll notice is that we’ve moved our blogs up and under their own link and section.  Now you can jump right to your favorite author or hit the Blogs link and see them all.  And we’ve set up subscription feeds so you can subscribe to one or all of the feeds in your favorite RSS reader.  Just look for the Feed link Subscribe at the bottom of any of the blog pages.

I’ve updated the micro-blog feed from twitter.com and kept it in the right hand column of the homepage. This allows me to quick post from anywhere I have cell or wi-fi from the comfort of my iphone.  It’s great to find out what’s going on recently for items that don’t really need a full post and it allows me to upload an associated photo from the road.

As always, you can check out our world famous Movies section to watch our latest creation.  Or you can take a step back in time and watch some of the earlier films which were instrumental in helping shape the careers of the talented Doerrstop cast members.

Next you can head over our Photo section where we’ll post snapshots of our adventures.  And since there is always something going on at the Doerrstop, you’re likely to find something new.

One other change we’ve made is the ability to customize the color scheme and background of doerrstop.com.  If you love the new design and color scheme, enjoy, but if you want your own colors and background, simply click on the color chooser above and tweak away.  I’ve even set up a few of my favorite color schemes for you.  Can I interest you in the Sparty light or Trojan theme?  🙂  And your palette will be remembered each time you visit so you can always view doerrstop.com the way you want to.

I hope the new design makes it easier for you to access all the fun content we have for you at doerrstop.com.  Let us know what you think.
