Pink Elementary goes to Sky Ranch-day 1

Day 1
Well,  Madeline's first day of camp is over and boy was it exciting.  We took a two and a half hour bus ride (on the big yellow school buses) to Van, TX and SkyRanch.  The bus was a bit noisy as the 50 screaming kids on our bus were very excited.  Along with that, the bus driver decided we needed a little music to fill any solitary moment of silence.
Once at Sky Ranch, we got out of the buses and into a beautiful morning at the ranch.  The sky was blue, the air was crisp and we got right down to…lunch?  We ate and got to business.  The first class we went to was Challenges where the kids had to stand on top of a blue mat and figure out how to flip it over without anyone getting off the mat.  It seemed very hard for them but Chandler finally figured it out and told everyone how to get it done.  In the second challenge they had to cross some flaming hot lava (the grass) using a bridge made from cardboard.  They didn't finish that challenge before we had to head over to the zipline, but I know the kids were close.
Once at the Zipline, I was recruited to be one of the zipliners and test the laws of gravity.  After three rides, I was ready to get out of that harness…ouch!  Then we just hung out for a while until dinner.  During that time Madeline and I went canoeing with Aubrey and her Dad Pete.  The canoe we used was all wet because the group before us tipped over and went under!  Then I almost tipped the canoe over when I tried to defend myself from another canoe who was splashing us and dug a little to hard.  I streered us away from the other canoes and we had a great trip.
Then came dinner.  The food was pretty good for camp food.
After dinner we played clue and went for a nature hike.  Then we took showers, practiced our skit for tomorrow and hit the sack.  More tomorrow…I'm beat!

Uncle Rob Came to Town Riding in a Minivan

My uncle Rob came on Tuesday during spring break. His children came too and their names are Alex and Nicholas.

Alex is eight and in third grade just like I am but he is 4 weeks older than me. Nicholas is 5 years old and in Kindergarten. We had a wonderful time with them.

First we went to Durham and had lunch with my Dad at Rudino’s near his work . Then we went to The Musem of Life and Science and rode the train and played in the bubbles.

The next day we went downtown on the bus and ate lunch. After that we stopped by the UNC lacrosse field to see if they were playing. We found out that they were playing in one hour. Uncle Rob wanted to see the game so we let him stay till the game started. We tried to get on one bus home but we think the bus came early so we went to a bulding close by and got some water and a bus route map. Then we went and caught a bus and rode home. That was such a fun day!

We said good bye before we went to bed because they were going early the next morning at six o’clock and woke up at five o’clock. That was the end of my adventure!

My Favorite Songs

I am sitting here listening to my favorite songs and these songs are:

? I Can Be Your Friend
? The Hairbrush Song

Both of these two songs are from VEGGIETALES – Veggie Rocks!

Why I like music is because you can dance and sing to music and just have a grate time dancing and singing to music. That is why I like music !

Winter Break

I had an awesome time during my winter break.  We had two families come to visit.  One of the families stayed for just one day. The other family stayed for 3 and a half days.

My cousins Tori and Colin came to stay for a night on their way to California.   We had a lot of fun playing at the park.

Then my friends the Genords from MI came and I got to sleep on the floor with my friend Elise in my brothers room.  Elise was sick for a few days.

We went on a bus downtown and had a lot of fun.

We got to stay home on New Years Eve because my Mom and Dad and my friends parents went out to dinner, saw a movie and went on a short walk but were home by 9:00.  We had a lot of pop corn for New Years Eve.  Then we watched the ball drop in New York and we got to do sparklers and we got to blow up balloons and throw them all over.

We were going to go to a museum on New Years day but it was closed so we went up to the arcade and after we played games we were going to get ice cream at La Vita Dolce but they were closed too (BTW…we could have made them money as there were 14 of us -ed.) so we went to Southpoint and got some.

Now I am so excited to back to my work at school!

I hope you had a great winter break too.
