Well, it’s that time of year once again. The 2016 Christmas Movie is done and ready for viewing.
Every year, development of the story line, preparation for filming, and editing work, seems to get a bit more challenging. This year we had to coordinate timing of when four of our children (and our son in law) would be coming home, and how that would fit with the movie production…oh, and Christmas!
While we always love the finished product, I wonder at what point life will somehow break into our family tradition. It’s a sad thought as the time we spend with each other, acting silly and laughing at ourselves, while spreading some holiday cheer, is one of the most special times of the Christmas season for me. Way better than presents! Not quite as special as the birth of our savior, but close. 😉
The idea for this caper came to us when a group of my classmates at UT presented a movie in a class on diversity that caught my eye. I showed it to the family and everyone was astonished at how things had changed in American families over the past 50-60 years. We decided we needed to juxtapose then and now for our Christmas movie and the idea was born.
From there we now have our 2016 Christmas Movie. Not a caper this year as we’ve had enough stolen from us this year already. As you will see, it was a lot of fun to make (keep watching for the bloopers to see how fun). We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. And if you are curious about the original video, you can watch that here.
